About Sarah

Welcome! I am a painter and writer who currently resides in Albany, Missouri.

...

I love of light and color and being outside. I believe these passions combine to produce works of calm serenity that invite you to stop, stay a while and rest from your busy routine.

Painting runs in my family and I am told I have been painting ever since I managed to crawl under my sister's crib to finger paint with my mother's oil paintings.

I studied watercolor at the Taos Institute of Art and oil painting with Linister in Kansas City.

My work has been exhibited work in Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas.

Oil paintings are executed in the classical or 'indirect' style such that each work consists of multiple thin layers  or glazes of paint creating an almost 3 dimensional effect.

Pastel paintings are executed on fine art watercolor papers and painting boards coated with a special sanded surface that accepts multiple layers of color.

My work is exhibited in historic Weston, MO at the 1837 Emporium and can also be viewed at numerous fine art festivals in the Midwest.
